Winter Disc Golf

December 2, 2013

Disc golf in the winter you say? It’s snow joke.

Every Saturday, from November until February, disc golfers of all ages and skill, will be throwing ribboned-frisbees on some of the best courses in the National Capital Region. It’s a great way to get out and enjoy the colder months, stay in form for the summer season, and to help out the Ottawa Food Bank.

This year marks the 13th Annual Ottawa Ice Bowl which will be held at the Kanata Disc Golf Course, on February 8th, 2014. The ODGC, through the Ice Bowl and Ice League, has been raising money and food for the Food Bank for 13 years.

The start times and locations for Ice League vary, so be sure to check the schedule that is updated on a regular basis here;

Disc Golf Riches Found at Fortune

August 6, 2013

Camp Fortune is looking divine these days.

Offering unbelievable views, exceptional disc golf terrain and an outstanding variety of disc golf moments, Camp Fortune is considered by some to be one of the best disc golf experiences in Canada.

Thanks to the hard work of the ODGC volunteers who have dedicated themselves over the last decade, Camp Fortune is a must play disc golf destination. Armed with mowers, clippers and a vision, these devoted landscape artists have carved out astonishing beauty out of the wildness that grows out of the protruding Canadian Shield, making it accessible and enjoyable for players of all skill levels.

On August 24, 2013, the Outaouais Open will host the Quebec Disc Golf Tour and welcome players from all over Quebec and Ontario to the Ottawa and Outaouais region. Camp Fortune will be in all its glory.

It’s no walk in the park.

It’s better.

A Friend is Gone

February 27, 2010

It is with tremendous sadness that we recognize the passing of our fellow disc golfer and friend, Dusan Nedelko. Dusan was an avid outdoorsman and introduced disc golf to the area of South River, installing courses and running tournaments. Through his involvement with the disc sports in schools program, Dusan also introduced the sport of disc golf to thousands of Ontario’s youth. He was extremely generous and supported his community and friends on every occasion. He will be missed greatly.
